Policy Statement
In our effort to create a safer community of online daters, MyTruDate requires every applicant to our platform to undergo a criminal background check.
We screen each applicant for over 200 criminal convictions. Applicants are admitted or denied access to the MyTruDate platform based in part on the results of this search.
This Offense Reporting Policy shows how we classify convictions for the most commonly known criminal offenses. This is not an exhaustive list and is merely a representative sampling of the types of crimes for which convictions may or may not result in an applicant’s inclusion in the MyTruDate community. Please note that out of respect for due process rights, we do not exclude applicants for arrests. Therefore, persons who have been arrested, but not convicted, of a crime may be permitted to join MyTruDate. The decision whether to admit, deny, or remove any applicant or user at all times remains in our sole discretion.
The criminal convictions which disqualify applicants from joining MyTruDate are referred to as “Included Offenses,” while the convictions that do not disqualify a person from joining MyTruDate are referred to as “Excluded Offenses.”
For more information about our criminal background review process, please consult our Terms and Conditions of Use .
Types of Included Offenses
Convictions for any of the following criminal law categories will result in an applicant being denied membership to the MyTruDate platform. If MyTruDate learns that an admitted member has been convicted of any of these same crimes, such member will also be removed from the MyTruDate platform despite prior admission.
Types of Excluded Offenses
Convictions for of any of the following Excluded Offenses will not necessarily result in an applicant being denied membership to the MyTruDate Platform.
If MyTruDate learns that an admitted member has been arrested or convicted of any of these excluded offenses after being admitted to the Platform, we will determine, in our sole discretion, whether that person can remain a member of the MyTruDate community.
MyTruDate expressly reserves the right to deny admission to, and/or remove any person from the MyTruDate Platform whom we learn has repeated arrests and/or convictions for any Excluded Offenses.
